Matthew 26:36-46
"could you not watch with me one hour?"
The sad and lonely question,
with the press of the powers coming down,
and talk of returning to the Father
and of broken body and poured out blood,
friends and followers choose fearful sleep
over a courageous prayer
"your will be done"
Simple words,
taught to his disciples,
prayed by millions,
but fulfilled in this one man, in the few hours that remained of his life.
For us and our salvation...
